What is Industrial Organizational Psychology

Industrial Organizational Psychology is the scientific study of the workplace. I/O is a branch of psychology that focuses on the personnel of organizations and their well being.

It's goal is to achieve goals while keeping the employees efficient, effective and happy. I/O psychologist focus on organizational issues related to the human capital.

Some of the courses of study are organizational behavior, statistics, job analysis, leadership, stress management, training, feedback systems, job design, performance appraisals, organizational cultures, diversity, work attitude, organizational structure and understanding the complexities of the inherent interactions among employees, management, suppliers and customers.
