How do leaders in an organization make quality decision?

Quality decisions are very important for the success of any organization. Competent leaders should be able to make accurate, timely, conscientious, and confident decision.Different situations require different types of leadership and decision making process. It is important that decision makers know how to analyze the situation and choose from the various styles that are appropriate. There are four basic styles in which a leader or an organization can make a decision. Leaders can make decisions on individually, a leader can consult an individual, a leader can consult a group, or a leader can facility a group to make the decision for the organization.

When a leader makes a decision on their own, they typically use their own intuition and experience to decide on a situation. The benefit for this method is that it can be speedy, however, the decision can be flawed as the leader has a narrow perspective on the situation. A leader can consult an expert individual to help him make the decision. The benefit for this method is that he can rely on a expert to help him make the correct decision, however, the recommendation could be flawed even though an expert was consulted. A leader can consult a group of people before making a decision. The benefit for this style is that it can draw from many different opinions, however, the negative is that it can take a long time and the group can still make the wrong decision.

Lastly, a leader can delegate or facilitate a group to make the decision for an organization. The benefit of this is that it can take the stress of having the leader make the decision however, this style could be very time consuming and the group can still make the wrong decision. These are a the basic style of a decision making process for an organization, however, a good decision is only half the battle as successful implementation is equally important.
