Both eclogite and peridotite are mantle rocks which contain diamonds within the Earth.
Eclogite is a metamorphic rock while Peridotite is an igneous rock.
Peridotite is a coarse grained dense igneous rock, consisting of mostly olivine and pyroxene minerals and is derived from the Earth's mantle and is the dominate rock of the Earth's mantle brought up from depths of 30-200 km deep. Peridotite is above eclogite.
Eclogite forms at great pressure than those at the Earth's crust and upper mantle. It is usually a dense rock with red to pink garnets and lots of accessory minerals including quartz, zoisite, corundum and diamond. It is a metamorphous of an igneous rock.
